[A] SSC MTS 2017 Notification

The exam is being organized by Staff Selection Commission or SSC to recruit candidates for various posts like the post of:

Let’s have a look at the details of SSC MTS Exam that a candidate must be acquainted with before applying for SSC MTS 2017.

SSC MTS 2017 Notification

The SSC MTS 2017 Notification was released on 31st December 2016. The closing date for the SSC MTS 2017 Application Process was 30th January 2017. The exam was scheduled on 30th April 2017. But the paper was leaked, so, SSC has decided to re-conduct the paper through online examination in the month of September-October.

SSC MTS 2017 Vacancy

As per SSC MTS Notification 2017 was released on 31st December 2016, a total of 8300 vacancies were declared to be filled through SSC MTS 2017.As the paper is really popular among candidates seeking a job in Government Sector, around 6 million candidates have applied for this exam.

SSC MTS 2017 Exam Dates

SSC MTS 2017 Paper 1 was scheduled on 30th April 2017. But as the paper was leaked, SSC cancelled the scheduled exam and re-scheduled it from 16th September to 31st October 2017 through Online Mode of Examination.

SSC MTS 2017 Exam Centre

The notification for SSC MTS 2017 was released on 31st December 2016. SSC conducts SSC MTS 2017 Exam every year at various centres all across the country.Candidates are given the option to select the centre of their choice while filling in the application form. The final allotment of the centre by SSC is done based on the choice of the candidate. If in any case there is the unavailability of the seat in the selected Centre, SSC will change the location as per the availability. Candidates do not hold the authority to question SSC for the same.

[B] SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria   

There are three major criteria that a candidate is required to fulfil in order to be eligible for SSC MTS 2017 Exam. Let’s have a look at all these three criteria:

Nationality: A candidate is required to be

  • A citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee
  • Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afganistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Age: A candidate must be of minimum 18 years of age and must not exceed 25 years of age as on 01.08.2016. Apart from the pre-mentioned Age Requirement, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given age relaxation as per Government Rules.

Educational Qualification: A candidate is required to pass Matriculation or its equivalent Exam from a recognized State Board or University or Institute.

[C] SSC MTS Exam Pattern     

The examination of SSC MTS 2017 will be conducted in 2 different levels: Paper-1 and Paper-2.Paper-1 is an online exam which is objective multiple choice question type. Paper-2 is a pen and paper mode of examination which includes a descriptive paper in English or any other language listed in the government policies.

A penalty for wrong answers: 0.25 marks will be deducted every time a candidate marks a question wrong.

SSC MTS Application Fee

The Application Fee for SSC MTS 2017 is Rs. 100/

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen category are exempted from paying the application fee. In addition to this, female candidates are also exempted from paying the application fee for SSC MTS 2017 exam.

SSC MTS 2017 Results

Staff Selection Commission of India or SSC will be releasing SSC MTS Result shortly for Paper-I that was conducted from 16th September to 31st October 2017. The Result for the same will be tentatively released on 15th January 2018. Candidates clearing Paper-I will be then eligible for the Descriptive Test (Paper-II) that will be conducted on 28th January 2018.

• The result of SSC MTS 2017 Paper-I Exam: The result & Marks of SSC MTS 2017 Paper-I will be declared by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) tentatively on 15th January 2018. It is compulsory for candidates to clear Paper-I in order to be eligible for Paper-II of SSC MTS 2017 Exam.

• The result of SSC MTS 2017 Paper-II Exam: Candidates who qualify Paper-I will be allowed to give Paper-II exam of the SSC MTS 2017 Exam. Results will be declared once the exam for the same has been conducted.

• Final Result: The final result for SSC MTS 2017 will be based on the cumulative score of Paper-I and Paper-II. The final Result will decide the fate of candidates who aspire to join the Government ministry/department. Therefore it’s necessary for every candidate to score really well in both the levels of SSC MTS 2017 exam to guarantee his/her selection in SSC MTS 2017 Exam.

SSC MTS 2017 Cut off

SSC MTS Cut-Off for Paper-I will be released once SSC MTS Result for the same has been released by Staff selection commission of India.
